Manager, Research + Strategy (8 Month Maternity Leave Contract)

We are seeking an experienced, well organized and dynamic individual (with a sense of humor) who is interested in becoming a part of the team that is going to move the needle on women’s health. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Manager, Research + Strategy oversees education + awareness projects and supports internal strategic projects for the Foundation. As required, the Manager, Research + Strategy will also assist in matters relating to the CEO office.

Specific Accountabilities

Education + awareness and advocacy projects

  • Oversee and manage education + awareness and self-advocacy projects for the Foundation including the development of research reports, research collateral and other assets.
  • Ensure all research is completed to research-grade standards to prevent any reputational risk to the Foundation
  • Work closely with our partners to identify upcoming research that can be leveraged to raise awareness of women’s health
  • Manage budgets for education + awareness and self-advocacy projects

Securing investment

  • Work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Executive Officer in identifying and securing investment for education, awareness + self-advocacy projects from pillar partners and sponsors.
  • Relationship manage pillar partnerships and sponsorships to ensure investments and impact are maximized for all parties
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Communications and the Chief Executive Officer to support funding from federal and provincial governments

Internal strategy

  • Maintain the performance measurement framework for the Foundation
  • Drive a culture of data collection within and across teams
  • Support in the execution of strategic projects alongside senior leaders
  • Support in projects related to the Chief Executive Office and Board

Qualifications

Education and Experience

A postgraduate degree in a related field or diploma in Health or a related field with at least 5 years’ experience leading research projects and supporting strategic initiatives.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong experience in the health/healthcare research field with a clear appreciation for research techniques and process.
  • Experience in proposal writing/funding requests
  • Highly motivated with a proven track record of success in executing research projects
  • Strong data-collection and management skills and appreciation for different sources and types of data in research + strategy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly as it relates to research and knowledge translation
  • Experience working in a complex, dynamic and demanding work environment
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and self-motivation and, at the same time, work effectively in a team environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels, internal and external to the organization
  • Ability to work under pressure and produce high quality work to deadline while maintaining composure
