This International Women’s Day, the BC Women’s Health Foundation is Choosing to Challenge.
Through initiatives to support women and their health, the BC Women’s Health Foundation will unmask the gender inequities experienced by women in business, spotlight the impact this has on women’s health, and reinforce that healthy women positively impact and create healthy companies.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone, but not equally. While no one is untouched by the impacts of the pandemic, women have been disproportionately affected and their health is suffering.
Only 23% of Canadian workers feel comfortable talking to their employer about psychological health issues and 47% of working Canadians consider their work to be the most stressful part of daily life. Healthy Women, Health Companies will provide strategies for supporting women and their health in today’s workplace. Women’s health is not only critical for the wellbeing of our communities, but is also important for Canada’s economy.
If there is one action, we’d welcome above all others, it’s your active participation in our #ChooseToChallenge movement of International Women’s Day 2021.
By showing your support and taking part, you will help to unmask the inequities experienced by women in business and shine a light on the impact these have on women’s health. We may be apart, but we must stand together and learn how to advocate for our health and make it a continued priority, even in the face of a demanding career.
This International Women’s Day, I stand with @bcwomens and #ChooseToChallenge the inequities experienced by women in business and spotlight the impact these have on women’s health. Healthy women positively impact and create healthy companies. That’s why I’m attending Healthy Women, Healthy Companies, in partnership with @sandramillerrealestate on March 8 to connect with other working women in BC and learn strategies for how to advocate for my health, as well as the health of others in my workplace. We may be apart, but we must stand together and learn how to make our health a continued priority, even in the face of a demanding career.
I #ChooseToChallenge, raise a hand if you do too. #HWHC2021
