Equipping violence prevention organizations to provide digital support to women in need
Investment needed: $500,000 of $600,000 total
Survivors of gender-based violence have never been more at risk of falling through the cracks, especially in indigenous, immigrant, remote and rural communities. Now, BC anti-violence organizations are preparing themselves for heightened demand for services in the long-term aftermath of this COVID-19 pandemic.
“The most challenging shift in my role is having to turn away women and children who have finally mustered the courage to flee. We are doing our best to accommodate every we can in a trying time, but it’s just not enough
BC Women’s Health Foundation, in partnership with the Ending Violence Association of BC (EVA BC), is committing to raise $600,000 as part of a campaign to meet the most urgent funding needs of our province’s anti-violence sector.
Your investment in this campaign will help mitigate the damage inflicted by COVID-19 to women’s wellness. With your support, violence prevention organizations will be able to adapt their services digitally to ensure no woman is ever again left without the supports needed to escape from a living situation where gender-based violence is a reality
Your gift will be life-affirming and life-saving. It will create a lifeline for women and girls in remote, rural and indigenous communities whose well-being – both physiological and psychological – depends on it.
