CHANGEMAKER’S MARKET 2021 – LEZÉ THE LABEL

We sat down with Changemakers Karen Lee and Tanya Lee of LEZÉ the Label, to discuss why supporting women’s health through this community of movers and makers is so important.

Welcome to the Changemaker’s Market presented by BlueShore Financial, a digital community of over 200 movers and makers who have generously donated their goods and services to benefit the BC Women’s Health Foundation.

Each and every item or service has been generously donated by a BC business owned by cis women, trans folks, non-binary folks, and those across the gender spectrum. You can bid on items, with all proceeds benefiting the BC Women’s Health Foundation and our mission of healthy women everywhere, capable of anything.

We asked our Changemakers a few questions, including Karen Lee (she/her) and Tanya Lee (she/her) of LEZÉ the Label, garments that combine a fresh day in sweatpant feel with sustainable materials.

Tell me a favourite series or movie that you watched during the pandemic?

90 Day Fiance

Why did you choose to donate to the Changemaker’s Market?

We’re huge supporters in making women’s health more accessible, and we 100% believe in celebrating women-led businesses.

Why does women’s health matter to you?

We’ve learned the hard way that dreams and goals may never come to fruition if your health is compromised. Your health is the foundation of your success.

The theme for International Women’s Day is #ChooseToChallenge. How will you #ChooseToChallenge the inequities that exist in women’s health?

Partner with organizations that fight for women’s accessibility and rights and end the cycle of glorifying ‘busyness’.

Nearly four in ten women report their mental health has worsened since the beginning of the pandemic a year ago. How do you cope with stress related to the COVID-19 pandemic?

Staying off our phones 1 hour when we wake up, and 2 hours before bed.

What inspires you most about giving back to your community?

When we divert the focus from ourselves, the gift of perspective and gratitude is always greater.

What or who is a local shop founded by a woman that you admire?

@free.label
@malathebrand
@londrebodywear

And lastly, one word to describe your legacy?

Freedom
